Not even a third of our way into the program and Matt and I are both down a pant size!
I had to buy new pants this week. I am officially back to my pre pregnancy size. I gained A LOT of weight during my pregnancy with Henry so to finally get here after so much hard work feels incredible. I still have more work to do but I've reached my first goal.
I would highly reccomend Power 90 to anyone who wants to make a positive change but isn't afraid of a little hard work. The workout itself is becoming easier everyday, but finding the time to do it is another story. We get 1 day off a week and we work out hard for the other 6 days.I am sleeping better at night, I feel happier and healthier, and I haven't had 1 migraine since I started the program. I have more energy during the day and I'm getting more done.
I have learned that program isn't about more then changing what is on the inside. You need to change how you think and feel about exercise to commit to P90.

A week and a half into the program
After 10 days of being on Power 90 I am seeing something amazing/shocking happen to my body. After 5 days into the program I was down 2.5 pounds, but then I started to gain a little back. I am still losing inches though. I'm gaining muscle! This is not something I am used to. In the past when I've worked out I have done mostly cardio and have never put so much focus on strength training. This is incredible and honestly I'm not quite sure how to wrap my head around it. I have decided I am going to put the scale away for at least the remainder of my first month on Power 90. After I reach day 30 I am going to take measurements and pictures FIRST, then get on the scale. Clearly the number on the scale doesn't mean much. I am working harder then I have ever worked before. I am eating healthy, drinking a lot of water, and taking my vitamins. The one thing I've been guilty of the past few nights is not having a small snack before bed. Most people are probably thinking "NO you can't snack before bed!" and normally I wouldn't. But I am exclusively breastfeeding and I need to keep up my calories otherwise my body will go into starvation mode easily.
I really like Power 90 so far. It challenges me but it isn't so hard that I can't do it. I have to dig deep though and force myself. I think that is always something I will struggle with. I am a lazy person and I don't like to work out. But I do it for myself and I do it for my children. I have gotten used to the routine to the point where I can turn down the tv and turn on my own music which really helps to motivate me.
So no weekly weigh ins from me. I need to be less concerned with the scale and more concerned with my overall progress. My goal was to build muscle and to get stronger and that is happening so I am very happy so far : )

4 workouts under my belt
It hasn't even been a week yet but Matt and I are already seeing results. Yesterday morning Matt stepped on the scale and was down 3 pounds after just 3 workouts. As of this morning I am down 1.6 pounds after 4 workouts. Not to shabby! Our official weigh in isn't for another 3 days though. I'm anxious to step on the scale after a full week of Power 90. I already can't wait to have a month of Power 90 under my belt so I can take measurements and see how many inches I have lost.
I would rate the program good! It certainly isn't easy but it isn't not impossible either. Tony Horton has designed the program so most people can do it and easily modify almost all of the exercises. After day 2 I was so sore. Working out through the pain was tough, but I sucked it up. My least favorite part of the program is the ab ripper. After my second pregnancy it has become clear that I don't have any abs! Seriously, my stomach muscles are so weak. But I am confident that this program will help me fix that.
Overall I feel better, healthier, and have more energy. After each workout I feel a little better about myself. In addition to the workout Matt and I are also eating healthier and making sure we take our vitamins every single day. I have found that to be so very important.

Power 90 arrived on 2-21-12
When we came home from our shopping trip Power 90 was sitting on the front porch.
Matt and I did not waste any time. We took before photos, took measurements, recorded our weight, and did day 1 of the program. Not to bad, it was strength training. The directions suggest taking it easy the first week. So I did but still feel like I got in a good workout. Today was day 2 and I did cardio and the ab ripper program. The cardio was good but the ab ripper was very hard. I am not sure I have any ab muscles at all after two kids! I did the best I could though and in time it will get easier.
I've been eating well today. Breakfast was a bowl of oatmeal with flax seeds and a coffee. My mid morning snack (right after my workout) was a protein shake with frozen fruit and skim milk. I love those shakes, so yummy!! Lunch was a bowl of pasta. Snack was a small cup of organic applesauce, a peice of cheese, and a couple peices of sliced turkey. Do you see a trend here? I do... I don't eat many veggies. It is a problem I have. I really don't like veggies except for the occasional salad. So I take my multivitamin everyday along with my D3. Also trying to drink as much water as I can. Mio helps me do that! The sweet tea flavor is my favorite so far. I think supper will be some boneless skinless chicken and maybe rice.
Anyway, I don't plan to update my blog daily. That just gets boring. But instead I'll write at least once a week to update my actual pounds lost. Then every 30 days I'll record number of inches lost. I am hoping to get good results. Wish me luck!

The next step
Since I brought Henry home from the hospital 5 months ago I've lost exactly 53.4 pounds of baby weight. But in addition to losing weight I want to get fit. I want to be toned and I want muscle. So I'm taking the next step in my journey and nothing is going to stop me. I am not going to make any excuses, I am just going to do it.
Last night I ordered Power 90. I feel great about my purchase and I believe I am in the right mindset to be successful. I just got the email that Power 90 is on its way and is estimated to be delivered on 2-24-12 (a week from today). I am going to blog about my progress and post pictures. My plan is to weigh myself every week and take measurements on day 1, day 30, day 60, and day 90.
